Philosophy About
bpa
Key issues and concerns:
Durability and vandal resistance of the
installation. Vandalism can be a particular problem,
but we have devised many ways of reducing the risk. It must
be appreciated that whilst capital funding may be available
to pay for the initial installation, future maintenance costs
resulting from deliberate damage or lack of durability may not
be available.
Economic viability in installation, energy
and maintenance costs
The installation must represent value for money and enable scarce
resources to be allocated effectively. The need for energy efficiency
applies not only for environmental reasons, but also to make
the long term continued use of the installation viable. If an
installation is too expensive to run, it will simply be switched
off. The use of modern, energy efficient equipment controlled
by sophisticated electronic timers avoids waste of energy and
gives the user control of the installation.

Reducing
light pollution. Any light that does not achieve its
objective is pollution. However, the use of correct modern equipment
fitted with high performance optics in conjunction with careful
planning, design and installation will minimize pollution and
prevent light nuisance to other area users.
Compatibility with existing or planned
CCTV installations.
We have experience of liasing with CCTV engineers in order
to meet this objective.
